Dinesh,
In finite and infinite scheduling, the system extends the time of planning based on the quantity to be produced. Is this statement is right ?
The duration of the order depends upon the formula that is used by scheduling. Larger quantities do not necessarily HAVE to extend the duration of the order, although it is often logical to do so.
If Yes. If system keeps on extending the time how can identify my bottleneck ? With this procedure i can find possible delivery date only ?
I assume that by "Bottleneck" you mean the capacity load compared to the available capacity. If you ALWAYS use the Capacity formulas to schedule your orders, then you will never get a capacity overload for a single order. Capacity consumption is determined by the Capacity formula in your work center. If you want to schedule your work center so as to allow overloads within a single order, then you need to create a separate scheduling formula; perhaps fixed duration, or some hybrid, and place it in the scheduling tab of the Work Center.
Another way to approach the problem is to set up CRP so that each order is scheduled according to the capacity formula (no overloads within each order), and overloads can be generated as a result of MANY orders being created by the finite planning engine.
