PRODUCTION ACTIVITY DECLARATION - STD VALUES FOR MACHINE TIME

Dear gurus,

i need some help on the typical manufacturing scenario where routings contains 3 different activities:

- setup

- machine time

- labour time

These times are used for the std cost calculation as well as the planned cost of production orders.

As no MES system is available, the ACTUAL time to be declared for the "machine time" activity is always equal to the std time in the routing.

My question is the following: is it mandatory to declare machine time = std time in order to avoid variance between the planned and actual cost of the production order using CO11n?

Is there any other STD way (maybe through product costing setting, i.e. in the activity type definition - KL02) to avoid declaring the MACHINE TIME activity?

Thanks

Mauro
